Nolen Hills bring much needed medicine to Honduras

The Nolen Hills Church of Christ out of Nolensville, TN returned this year to serve with a much needed medical brigade. This group has grown so much that this year we decided to conduct two separate clinics in different villages. Together they were able to serve over 1000 people with medical consults and medicines, as well as reading glasses for those in need. It’s the first time we have had two simultaneous clinics. It stretched our resources a bit but was a great experience, giving us confidence to repeat if needed. These communities were filled with humble, sincere people who expressed gratitude to those who came to serve. We are so thankful for churches like Nolen Hills who make it their mission to serve those in need.

VCOM

By now most of our readers know that VCOM stands for The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. VCOM has four campuses across the U.S. Our relationship with VCOM has been an enduring one that has been mutually beneficial. In March, VCOM brought a group of medical students along with preceptors. They visited a different village each day and provided basic medical services and medications to the patients. It’s a wonderful learning experience for the students and a great service to the community. Generally, VCOM brings student groups three times per year. We also host small groups of their third- and fourth-year students for 4-5 weeks throughout the year. The purpose of this arrangement is to give the students exposure to third world medicine and diseases.
