A Note From Donna, September+October

At the end of August, we had our fourth annual family retreat for the church at Barrio Belén. We had 137 people in attendance. We were blessed to receive Juan Meza (MX) as our speaker and Jeremias Santos (DR) to lead our worship. It was truly a blessing to be fed so richly. We always have our retreats at the same camp as our annual Bible Camp. It is very rustic but spacious and away from the noise of the city. This year we had 9 baptisms. Three of the baptisms were young men from Project Moses. Five of the baptisms were children from our personal home Bible study group. It was a true joy to see them take on Christ in baptism. We celebrated with the children from our group the following week with cake. These moments are such a blessing for the entire body. We are happy to share that the church took on all the expenses from its budget. The participants paid a portion, but the church covered the rest. This is a sign of maturity and growth. We know that many of you have been “with us” since this congregation was planted in 2014. It was planted by a team of 27 (including children) with the focus of expanding the Kingdom in Santa Rosa de Copán.  One of the purposes of the church at Barrio Belén since its inception is the be the recipient of the good works of Mission UpReach. As MUR reaches children and their families through our programs like DESEO, Moses Project, and Bible Camp, the church at Barrio Belén becomes the place for those impacted to encounter the family of God. We appreciate your continued prayers for our church.
